It gives me great pleasure to announce the release of the first public beta of Defeat in Detail 2.

You can get it here.

Yeah, pathfinding is an issue, particularly on small scale movement. For moving from one side of the level to the other it works well using a waypoint system, but when moving round and past other units they often get stuck.

I think zoom in and out are bound to the A and Z keys, if I remember correctly. If it's marked wrong in the manual I apologise.

You'll be interested to know that we're currently throwing ideas around for DiD 3, which we'll start work on just as soon as I get a new PC. At that point I'll also go back and fix some of the more obvious problems with DiD2 too.

Good work, especially for a such a small team. I found that the pathfinding issues were annoying, as was the lack of indication of which units were selected. Also, when I pressed D to zoom out, the screen scrolled downwards. Don't know if that's my fault or not, but if it's a bug it definitely needs to be rectified. I'm not being critical because I didn't like the game, I'm being critical because I want this game to get better. Good luck with your future endeavours!

Awesome mod! If the beta looks this good already, is there gonna be anything left to improve for the final version? :D

I don't know much about crimsonland, but I don't think it's all that similar to be honest. it plays more like a straight up rts, but with units interested as much in self preservation as unwavering commitment to the cause. Sometimes if they're too injured they'll prefer to hide than stand and be shot, whether you tell them too or not

Very nice work man, the Combat style looks kinda like the Crimsonland style which is a cool style. :D
