Everyone likes christmas no?
Yeah... the gifts.. the big tree.. the roaring fire!
Then again, there are the parents... the hugs... the crappy presents, the "sure to be radioactive" fruitcake, the old arguments coming back over and over again!
Thus, the use for this mod.
Xmas is a way to bring christmas... into Half-Life!
Everything in HL is replaced with christmas themed stuff. The 2d art, the models, the sounds, everything is changed!
So now, when your mad because of your ol' grandma coming to hug you and kiss your face, you can relax!... by shooting off a few grenades and blowing the crap out of your enemies!

As you might imagine, the distinct lack of updates on my part pretty much means Xmas developpment has stopped and the chances of it starting over are slim... but not totally out of the question.
Let me explain:
Last year i got a job as a level 1 tech support guy at some bank up here in Quebec City. Its a 1 year contract and it ends in june. At that point, i will be a "free agent" again.
What does that have to do with anything?
Well i plan on going to the NAD institute in Montreal to learn 3D modeling/animation and game development with all of the money i have saved up.. The course wont start for a few months after that so i might just pick up modding and move into HL 2 editing since the institute works with the source engine to teach students.
So there is a chance Xmas is reborn and would be part of my portfolio, which it used to be, but its so outdated im not sure i want to keep it in it.
Anyhoo, keep on fraggin' !

I for one cant wait to start doing HL2 Xmas maps! Although just in case HL2 is not out by the time Christmas comes im working on a new Home Alone based map for old Xmas :)

But Xmas WILL get ported to HL 2 for sure.
W00t. Well it still has a couple of months till xmas maybe you should updates, especially since "HL2 is going to be released this yer" *coughliescough*, still would be good tho that way no one thinks this is dead.
Since the only time Xmas is played is during the holidays, theres not much point in updating it.
There are also 0 server 99% of time.
Altough you can expect the arsenal to be completed and more maps added. That's for sure.
Updates needs updates.
