Poke646 (v1.0)
Sep 13, 2005 Full Version 4 commentsPoke646 is a single player mod for HalfLife which puts you in the shoes of Damien Reeves, a low level technician.
It's 13 months after the incidents at Black Mesa. The Black Mesa Research Facility has been shut down. The nation never got to know anything about the experiments there. The less you know, the less you worry. The government founded a new organisation to handle "alien related topics". They hired the best scientists, technicians and military forces worldwide, its name is Poke646.
Some days ago the Poke646 scientists spotted alarming signals from the Xen homeworld. It looks as if the aliens plan to invade Nation City by opening a massive amount of portals. But the Poke646 Tech Labs are already prepared: some months ago the technicians developed a huge generator which is able to close hundreds of portals at once with a bundled energy beam. Four generators are about to be installed at the edges of Nation City. With all four activated they will form a giant beam and hopefully destroy the alien portal technology forever.
You play the role of Damien Reeves, the technical assistant of Dr. Fuller, and you don't know all these details. All you're currently worrying about is where the hell you lost your car keys when suddenly something hits your head and you slowly fade into unconciousness. When you wake up hours later, you quickly realize that some very strange things are going on...

one of the best hl mods I ever played^^
Greatest mod I played thus far. The sequel Poke646: Vendetta is pretty awesome - but short - as well.
this mod has a cool story.... but completely leaves out the 7 hour war after the black mesa incident and the massive comine ship that landed and how the whole human race was defeated and destroyed
Poke646 came out before Half Life 2 existed.
Also, according to the Half Life story guide, the Combine didn't arrive on Earth for some time. So there is a void between Half Life and The Seven Hour war.
I thoroughly enjoyed this mod good story.
Please..I need immidiate help.
I have an problem:My keyboard options doesnt show up and i cant do anything in game(Move, jump etc.)
I have read some comments on the great soundtrack. Yet I just played the whole thing only hearing music fro ma radio and a jukebox. Is that what they are referring to?
Well I just bet this mod in one very long and enjoyable setting. It was really, really, great. The story was great, the models, the animations, well lets just say everything. The maps were very well done. I did get lost sometimes but way less then Half Life I personally enjoyed this more. And when I checked the walkthrough for help and the solution does make sense. So overall very, very, well done. Not one moment was I ever bored.
In the walkthrough it says "At the end of the hallway you see the plant pot with the promised key behind it, pick it up." When was it promised?
