Your name is Alex Johnes. You're one of scientists caught up in the Black Mesa disaster. After being trained in a special Black Mesa self-defense course three months ago, you're unwilling to accept the sure death as your destiny. You will neither let the troops catch you, nor will they wipe you out. Make your way. Find Gordon Freeman. He is the last hope that drives you traveling on...
I developed this mod together with a wonderful group of people when I went to high-shool. Make sure to download and apply the STEAM patch if you want to play the game on STEAM. Unfortunately I lost all the source files during a hard-drive crash, so I am unable to fix some of the invisible walls / clipping issues in the maps, sorry for that.
Try the "Escape from the Darkness - Remod" from ZikShadow, this mod solves many issues of the original mod.

Really good stuff! Great work
By the way, there is still another modification about Alex Jones
Namely Lost in Black Mesa which takes place in Black Mesa
This modification was created by Russian developers Chain Studios
The mod was released in December 2009
More precisely, this is a sequel or prequel to Escape From The Darkness
Why is the name of the main character Alex Jones, it is not clear why
Could you pick another name for the main character?
And you start copying the names of the main characters from other modifications and games
And also you take the names of existing people from real life
This is how to understand that they took names from other modifications and games?
This mod was good but very difficult, but the music was awesome. You mentioned having made dnb music back in the day. Any archives of that? Also what DAW/equipment did you use to make music back in the day?

Streamed the mod here:
This turned out to be a sleeper mod, it's a diamond in the rough and honestly I had a lot of fun with it despite the lack of autosaves in the mod. The work that went into making the environments detailed, the custom weapons, music choice and sound design, ultimately made for a very fun mod which I enjoyed greatly. I highly recommend!
Hey man! Thanks a lot for playing my mod, I had great time watching you play! :D I made this mod with the team while I went to high-shool, the music/tracklist is what I liked to hear back in the day. Cheers, Martin
the map look beautiful thou but that is where it end. this mod have too many uneven geometry so it really easy to get stuck. It make maneuver and taking cover difficult.
Yes and sorry for this. I lost the backup long time ago and cannot change the geometry anymore. Thanks for playing the mod!
This is one of the most 'maddening' Half-life mods I have ever 'attempted' to play through: In many ways it shows a lot of promise and -for the better and the worse- seems to be a very 'amateurly-made' mod. It has a lot of creativity and originality going for it.
Right off the bat, I was unable to destroy a silo door -with the tank- at the very beginning of this mod. I looked at a youtube 'walkthrough' and I realized I did nothing wrong. For some reason, hitting the silo door with tank guns did nothing, so I had to use a 'no-clip' cheat to get through the door. The polygon count of this mod is very low -- as a result, I got stuck in certain places where I shouldn't have -- had a difficult time manoevering to evade soldiers' gunfire when I had to.
Within the first 20 minutes I had to use youtube walkthrough several times to figure out where to go. There were far too many graphical and physical glitches. I finally within a short amount of time gave up on this mod, altogether....it many respects it looked like it could've been a pretty good 'amateur' mod with some improvement and corrections.....
I rate this mod a 3 out of 10.
I think 3 is a bit harsh, I think a number around 5 to 7 would be more fair.
Hey Re-synthesizer thanks for the review and great to see people still playing our mod!! Are you sure the tank did not work? Did you play the original version or a port?
Sorry for the delay in response -- I didn't notice your reply until now. The entire mod was uber-glitchy. I downloaded it from modbb for my Windows 7 laptop with Steam version of Halflife.
Most modbb downloads work fine; this one didn't...
Sorry for this, I recommend trying the "Escape from the Darkness - Remod" as this solves a lot of the existing issues. Thanks for playing the mod!
