Star Wars : Team Assault is a multi-player, objective orientated, team based mod for Jedi Knight II : Jedi Outcast. The aim of this mod is to create an exciting online game which captures the essense of the various facets of the Star Wars universe. We intend this mod to appeal to both die-hard Star Wars fans and die-hard gamers alike.
Inspiration will be found from the original trilogy films, prequel films and the EU.
Planned features include:
* Extensive weapon and equipment advancement trees derived from authentic SW material.
* A dynamic attribute system which will allow players to tailor their online player to their own playing style.
* Realistic combat. Last Man Standing (LMS) play, stamina levels etc...
* A class system - We want to implement a good variety of classes which covers the kind of diversity found within the Star Wars mythology. Classes will include standard military classes (Basic soldier, Light soldier, heavy soldier, sniper etc.) as well as more varied classes such as Wookies, Mandalorians, Smugglers and - of course ... Jedi!
* Two map modes - Classic and Open.
'Classic' mode will restrict players choices so as to be consistent to the scene / senario which the map was inspired from.
'Open' setting, however, will not restrict how the game is played too much for the sake of consistency. Therefore, more varied and 'fun' gaming situations can be created.
There will also be other server-side options to tweak which will allow further customisation of the game.
* Varied map objectives - such as:
Hack the Computer Terminal
Han Solo Football!!
Other features still being considered / looked into:
* Improved saber system to enable more 'film-like' battles to be experienced
* Advanced comms system including arm movements and 'silent' commands.
* Commander-type abilites to set individual / group waypoints, detect enemy positions
We have made great progress on one of the most imprtant features of the mandalorian class - the Jet Pack!
That's right - with one press of a key you can now take off and fly like a bird. (Well - like Boba and Jango Fett at least!!)
Smoke & flame effects, and proper physics implemntation are completed. In fact, the only thing left to do are the appropiate sound effects - which are being worked on as we speak.
Expect a teaser video showing off jet-pack flight, and more features of the mandalorian class soon...
Hey folks, It seems that there's something fishy going on with our website at as well as our forums at that same address. We're looking into it at the...

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. Personally I'm gearing my vacation down these days and getting ready to fly back to Scotland this wedensday (yes, the 11th :)), after that I should be gearing up again soon and hopefully we can get some screens up of the stuff we're working on at the moment.
Until then, may the force be with you.
Hey there Chandler,
Thanks for the praise, I'm probably going to create a new title once we have some more concrete graphic stuff to show off, I just thought we needed a little carrot to draw some people in ;)
So how's your mod coming along?
Whether we get driveable vechicles for the first release depends on how quickly the basic coding jobs get done. But yes, we definelty want to get them in eventually.
Specifically, the barges for the Sarlac scene, and speeder bikes for a Battle Of Endor map...
I'm waiting until we have some skinned models before I do ours ;). Does that mean you'll have pilotable vehicles?
Yes - this is quite an ambitious project! Hence the estimated completion set at middle of next year!! :) (Although, to be honest, I'm hoping that's a little bit pesimistic, but we'll see...)
thx, sounds great, sounds like a big job, sounds like it wont be out for ages :/
The News section is down at the moment, but there's a lot more info on the site (strikeforce.jediknightii.net). We're hard at work honing the 'vision' (how pretentious ;)) down to the bare essentials.
But feel free to ask questions or drop by our forums if you have suggestions.
