The Story

"?When we have lost everything, including hope, life becomes a disgrace and death a duty"?.
This is the story of the Military unit once known as Orion platoon, and how the American government made their lives change forever.

U.S.S Yorkdown. October 8th, 2004
"This is a mission of utmost importance" Sergeant D. Moore of Orion said to his Squad. "You must all understand the risks that are involved in this mission, especially since we have some new recruits" He rested his eye on Lance Corporal Smith and Specialist O'Neil. "You two are to secure the perimeter to make sure no one other then us gets in or gets out of the compound." His face with rock-like accents changed to a smile and winked at his "Pupil" O'Neil. He turned to his Squadron and finished his briefing.
"That will be all men; we will leave at 02.00 hours" Moore closed his briefcase and put on his Officer's hat, he walked out of the dark projector room and closed the door as he left.

Extraction Point, Saudi-Arabia. October 9th, 2004
The Orion's quickly gathered as the Black Hawk chopper standing on Deck was preparing to leave. As they entered Moore stepped in last, and looked at the carrier, as he felt this would be the last time he'd ever set foot on a Navy Carrier as a Free man.

Quickly the team set foot on land as the Black Hawk Choppers dropped them on a beach not far from the Sheik's territory. Moore quickly searched the Landing zone as his task as Commander also was Pathfinder. He signalled his team as they moved into enemy territory.

"Funny" Moore mumbles to his CO Roger Perconte. "I was under the impression that there was some sort of security around", he lowered his binoculars and radioed the rest as they prepared to enter the building.

Unknown location, somewhere in the U.S. November 18th, 2007
"The rest seems like a blur" Moore says three years later. "Everything happened so fast." We entered the building and the place was swarming with Mercenaries. Thanks to our training we managed to sneak in and find out where the sheik was in the compound. Everything went as planned Moore says face down to the floor. We weren't prepared for one thing though. A traitor.

"O'Neill! What in Gods name are you doing, that's the alarm system!" O'neill looked at the man who trained him and smiled. "Woops, look what I've done now." He laughed loudly and said "Moore, you and your man are nothing but fools." Can't you see that the powers you're facing are greater then you can comprehend? It's not just this Oil Sheik and his installation, its something much bigger. You and your unit aren't good enough to cope with this mission. I told my CO that we had to put another team on this case."

Moore was stunned; his apprentice turned his back on him. "Who the hell are you?" Moore said absolutely flabbergasted. "The name's Hemingway, also called Two Face Taylor, with me being a double spy ya see" He smirked and smashed the alarm button. Quickly drawing his Colt he wanted to point it at Hemingway, but changed his mind and shot the light bulb darkening the room.

"My team of five managed to barely escape the compound, hunted down by the mercenaries and the Navy for not completing a mission and treason (according to Hemingway also known as O'neill). What followed was a year long of fear, tears and anger." Moore lowered his head again to the floor and for a moment it looked as he was going to cry. Instead however he stood up and walked to the door where two of the Orion's guarded the door. "I trust you will publish this report as I told you. When I feel that this interview has been written well, I will tell you the rest." He smirked and put on his Officer's hat that he still wore with pride.....

To protect the privacy and safety of the remaining Soldiers their names are changed in this report.

As promised...
When we launched our new website a month ago, we promised you a media update at the end of september. Unfortunately we don't have as much to show yet, because our newest member (Armanguy), who should do the concept art, is inactive lately. We now decided to spread the media releases over several smaller updates.

But don't be disappointed, promised is promised. Our modeler Apoc didn't sat still all day and he has just finished the M4 Carbine model. He's also very busy with making the H&K USP model so expect a render of this one soon. Furthermore I made a new logo for the mod and a new wallpaper to show it off a little.

you have to remember to not have too many polygons or people with buget/mainstram computers won't be able to run the mod in decent framerates. a good idea is to have a beta tester who has just above the requirements of the game. if your mod can run fine on say, a GeForce FX 5200 (non-Ultra), than you'll be ok.

A: Here are some quick numbers for you. BTR: 7500, weapon/Vehicles: 4000. Most NPCs: 5000. Knife: 800.

And i'm talking about the max. polycount, not about the average. We'll always try to optimize weapon models, we've about 3 experienced modelers who can take care of that.. :)

I don't exactly know the polycount of the weapons as i'm no modeler, but they are around 4.000 at maximum. Just like in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. as far as we know. We want to create about the same amount of detail like in the original game itself (for now based on the screenshots).

On a side note: I want to add that we're NOT going to use S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s original weapons, as it may differ in modelling style, etc. :) And of course ejection ports will be on the right side in our mod.
