About the game (story):
Far Cry: Cerebrus Protocol is a modification for Far Cry that is being developed by Zoetic Games. Our Aim is to create a mod that looks, feels and plays like the original game but has many more features and new concepts. The game will be set at the same time as the original game (the same time Jack carver was present) but the story will be angled towards more of the unknown Trigen experiments and what happens when a prisoner with a vendetta escapes.
Story/Plot
Set during the events of Far Cry, you find yourself in the shoes of a dazed and confused prisoner named Bruce Murphy. When the power goes out in one of Kreigercorps main facilities, Bruce takes the oppurtunity to escape, only to find himself caught up in a deadly conspiracy and as he soon learns, he doesn't have long before he's surviving purely on instinct.
With the clock ticking and an army of Mercs bearing down upon him, it's up to Bruce to escape this living hell....

Cerebrus Protocol - single player mod is no more. A couple of days ago I decided it was best to let people go their separate ways due to inactivity in the team. It's nobodys fault directly, it's just one of those scenarios where the team burnt out and lost enthusiasm, we only had a few very hard working mappers who are now better served releasing their work stand-alone.
I hope nobody minds me making this thread, we worked on the project since september 2004 or earlier so it's a sad time for us. I have learnt alot from leading this mod, I just hope that other mods don't go the same way. I guess I have learnt that when you set your sights so high and want to produce work of the best standard possible, it's difficult to rely on others who don't feel the same way or can't invest the time you need...make sure you have a solid enthusiastic team and a do-able idea.
Thank you everyone for your support.

If I had a reliable (and i mean reliable!) and talented coder, a mapper, modeller and animator i'd certainly consider trying to finish it up in some form, maybe next year. The whole team is completely split now, so it's pretty much just me and this profile keeping the idea alive. The Farcry community, unfortunately, has a very small pool of enthusiasts which is a shame as the engine is pretty amazing....but in the new-year i'll reassess the mod, never know, it might be plausible.
I'm working on another mod for FC though which is equally as impressive as CP was ever going to be, to the same visual standard.. will leave a note here about it when it's released XMAS/new year :):):).

i gotta say this just stinks... you guys had what in my opinion was the best mod of all times... and ive been following you guys since early 2005... :(
you say that its too bad that the rest of your teammates didnt have enough enthusiasm to go all the way... but just check out there, the community of gamers that just love this mod... you guys should somehow get together and finish it up... =)
i mean, you guys were huge...youve been published in professional videogaming magazines and all, and then to see such an awesome project go to waste.. too bad.
well, i hope you can put another team together and be able to continue the project... cuz seriously, it is top notch
you guys stopped?
to bad...
that shark could have been very promising,
Makes me think, Why isnt there a white-shark mod for far cry?
That no one even had the idea of making a shark mod...
that also makes me think, what are you guys going to do with all the mod files you worked on...
Throw it away?
if so, send an e-mail to ''stephan_eggink@hotmail.com'' cuz i'll be happy to adopt the shark 8)
but still, to bad you guys are dead.
NOOOO, ive been waiting for this mod for so long, it breaks my heart, and honestly, I think now ill finally delete far cry off my HD, anyway its so sad to actually see this, and I hope you guys the best in the future.
