Wretched Abandon: Confined Combat

Fantasy war has never been so real.

Wretched Abandon is multiplayer mod that thrives off team play and squad based tactics. Three distinctly different teams will compete using class based combat to complete various objectives on maps, such as holding points and hacking data. Despite the fantasy setting combat will play out in a realistic tone, with location based damage and accurate fire arm portrayal.

The goal is to take a complete fantasy sci-fi setting and provide a suitable realistic war gameplay.

Design Features
- Three unique sides; Mars, Moon and Earth.
- Three classes per side, each with unique weapons and abilities, strengths and weaknesses.
- Squad based tactics and balanced teamplay.
- Realistic location based damage. A head shot will result in death.
- Firearm kickback and accuracy.
- Iron sight/LED aiming.
- Atmospheric locations ranging for lush forests and fields to vast deserts and intense city streets.

Its back?! WA is back?! IS IT TRUE?!

The answer is no, sadly. I must admit I'm using this news posting feature to exploit the 100+ people following this mod, in order to call out to the original team and say "Hail!".

Any of you guys still out there? Whats news? Whats up? Remember WA and how awesome it was? I know I do. Warm thoughts of WA keep me warm at night, after all these years.

Never forget.

I could sit here for an hour and write a needlessly lengthy news post as to what is on my mind in regards to Wretched Abandon, what caused these thoughts...

Dr.Zoidberg: It is teambased, so it wont be DM like Quake, but it will be fast paced. We have a strong focus on creating bottleneck areas in our maps near key objective points. That way the action is always going on, and battles are always important to win.

CS is very arcade based (despite its so called "realism"). Its maps allow for a bit more tangent solo play and random areas for battle. WA is more about a constant flow of action in specific areas, which is aided by respawning.

If you actually plan to eventually release this, I commend you for reviving it.

However, if you just revived it for the sake of getting people interested in it, just drop the mod now.

Thanks for the feedback. Its appreciated.

chris701: Yes, the mod was regestered a long time ago, and eventually failed due to a number of problems. I'm pretty sure I stated that in a previous news post. While we definately have some work to do, one of the main problems was the initial project was too ambitious. This one is less so.

Marouku: No, we are not reviving this just to "get people interested". We have full intention of bringing the project back, along with a number of other projects behind the scenes (in relation to WA). This is more than me "deciding" that I'd like to go it again, and has been in discussuion for awhile.

Dr.Zoidberg: No. There are very few, if any, similarities between this and CSS.
