Battlefleet Gothic: A Dawn of War mod.

Overview:
This mod for the Dawn of War engine to provide the ability for a Battlefleet Gothic game on the computer.

Planned goals:
-create a fleet list of at least 8 ships per race, including 1 battleship, 3 cruiser, and 4 frigate class ships. Also needed will be at least 3 buildings (mining complex, small shipyard/starbase, large shipyard)
-create at least 3 races
-create an interesting and workable space environment on a two dimensional playing battlefield (in other words, a flat black map)
-incorporate a large amount of the special order "feel" of Battlefleet gothic, so that you are deeply involved in the commanding of your ships

Unit design overview
The basic stratagem of Battlefleet gothic was to maneuver and position your fleet in the best possible firing arcs for your crafts' weapons. Most all main weapons (short of orks) are aligned down the sides of a craft, and as such both speed and angle of attack were core to the game. This should be little different. There will have to be some basic changes though to incorporate the fact that this is now real-time rather than turn-based. For starters, ships will have to dispense with the "always moving forward" feature of the tabletop. Otherwise there's a good chance your units will just wander off the map or would have to be extraordinarily slow so that you could better manage them.

Turning as well will also be handled in a more real-time format than going a bit-45 degree turn-going a bit-etc. As Providing we can moderate the turning increment then each ship will turn and curve in an arc based on its basic incriment assigned by us. I.E. a destroyer would have a larger incriment (hense a better turning speed) than a battleship.

As mentioned previously, it is the intention of providing as many special orders as possible for the ships. There are several which should be easy to impliment and several which pose interesting problems. To go down the list:

Special Orders:
All Ahead Full: use same basic boosters as currently on Wartrukks, cut down accuracy of vessel. Will have to look into combining the rampage ability from the squigoth so that this can give a more effective "ramming" power.

Come To New Heading: Will be tricky, and we'll have to see how much manipulation we have on the matter of turning, or whether or not to incorporate both this and the above command into one more general one entitled "Full power to Engines"

Burn Retros: most likely no longer useable as constant momentum is looking to be phased out.

Lock On: Current theory would be to have a ship, at complete stop, gain better accuracy. Another thought would be to cut throttle of the ship to in exchange for an increase of accuracy; would be an interesting coding challenge to come up with something.

Reload Ordinance: either have torpedoes as a free one-time-use upgrade to a ship (but can upgrade it each time it's fired), or just have torpedoes automatically reload on a long delay. In either case, would probably be best to include a new special order "fire torpedoes" so that the player has direct control over them.

Brace for Impact: standard invisible buff that increases armour but decreases accuracy

Hello all im am glad to say BATTLEFLEET Lives.
I am Recruiting all the personel to build up a strong mod team for this project as this has been recovered from another mod team that have failed to keep going with it due to thier very bizzy personal lives. i have not recieved the files yet so till then there will be little to show just yet. the site will have some screenshots taken from the relic bfg mod forum and the guys.they have sent me thru msn or other means and some gamesworkshop pictures for concept ideas and promotional purposes

Sorry to all our fans but we are not dead but moving because we lost %90 of our work 4 months ago when my pc was stolen this is not the only mod to suffer but our mod Twilight of the clans has suffered the same fate i will have more news soon thank you for your support and stay tuned
