This mod is based on the older game called 4x4 Evolution 2. Some of you remember it being based on HL2, but it is being brought back to life with a game more of us are familiar with. We do have access of the source code for the game straight from TRI themselves. Here's a list of things we are going to do to it:
Features
-Ability to run out of fuel
-Air pressure effects grip on certain surfaces
-New gauges, including boost for turbocharged vehicles
-New sounds, including v6, 4, diesel, v8, and v10 sounds, and turbo and blower sounds.
-New parts, such as replacing bumpers and exhaust models and tires, and axles
-Complete physics overhaul (Most important)
-Fix collision issue (Next most important)
-Real time reflections
-4 wheel steering
-2 different tire models for front and rear, enabling duallies and boggers out back with tsl's up front

Career
Here's how career is going to work for the mod. The basic set up will still be intact, except for these few changes.
1. Races will now be offroading compititions, where you have to make it through a course in a certain amount of time. Money will be awarded according to the place you finish.
2. Missions will still be there. I'm not sure if we should add new ones or leave the existing ones.
3. Parts will be added, such as bumpers replacing the existing ones on vehicles, axles, etc. We will have different models for each axle as well.
I would like to set up a system in multiplayer that enables you to have rock races for cash online. That's only availible if you use the stock ingame rigs.
For the teams, we could have Sponsers instead. Also, I think it'd be cool to have to have a certain sponser to get one of the tube buggies we're making.

Its DEAD guys. Its not coming back.
And KiGrind, if you didnt know, we moved to a different platform. The President at Terminal Reality gave us permission to mod 4x4 Evo, and was ready to hand us the source code. So using 4x4 Evo, it would have been VERY easy for the Custom truck ideas to happen. Most of the team had their Non-Disclosure agreements signed and sent into him, but our coders never reached. By that time, none of us really cared anymore.
How may I ask are you achieving real-time reflections. I am interested, because I'm a mapper, and it'd make something look alot better for me.
They still hate me but they can kiss my *** for all I care.
I think the mod would be fine as a buggy type competition based mod where all the vehicles where pretty much the same and it relied on driver skill.
If your still going for player custom vehicles, more power to ya..... its just going to take a LONG time and some talented dedicated coders.
someone needs to revamp this, this is an AWSOME IDEA
