Deus Ex is, by many standards, considered an old game. It has been played and memorized by many dedicated fans. Games with storylines so well developed and intriguing are few and far between. But Deus Ex, in all of its archaic nature, still sits at the top with little competition in terms of plot.

The Chronos Project's Developement, quite simply, aims to revive, restyle, and renew the game's appeal. Upon starting Chronos, a whole new wintery theme, all new textures for characters and items, as well as reworked maps and new elements, inclusive of a bullet time augmentation that is already functional, will recharge the interest of old dedicated fans as well as the new.
They will see new developments in storyline as well as gameplay, all sprinkled with heavy aesthetic alterations. And all of it capable of being finished in a timely manner, as it already has a sturdy base to stand on. The original game, Deus Ex.

News

If you've been to our site, then there's nothing new here.. yet.
I've simply uploaded a couple of images to the moddb as well as bringing the last working version of Chronos to this page.
Check it out.

As news, try this on for size. Everything that DDL and I have conjured up, to this point, is currently being packaged up and ready for shipping for you again. And the changes are pretty hefty. I may redo the intro as well and make some better sense of the story. We shall see.

Sorry for the lapse people. I repent.

So Chronos is basically the worst mod about public relations. That's because we're too cool for you. Dork. Ha. Just kidding. Alrighty, for updates...

I'm the guy that headed up this mod and ended up here in a cabernet induced stupor. This post makes me sad. Learned a lot, had a lot of fun. Zero access to the old mod files too. But the sentiment is much appreciated and yes, it rests in peace.

I suppose its already been said but is this being developed? We've already seen mods go half finished enough as it is (Cassandra Project, ANT Agenda, Hints of Corruption)

great mod so far :)
quick question though is it random or normal that i got a log entry when i walked between a wall and a tree on liberty island (headed towards the hidden stash of med bots) the log entry read:
"chronos is near
chronos is near"

random or not?

thanx tamm xx

I hope I can still get an answer to this...

I installed this on my Vista laptop over a year ago with no problems (and its awesome, btw). Then recently, I got a new Windows 7 laptop. After some troubleshooting with getting the correct resolution, a no CD patch, and Chronos to work at the same time, I found that most of the time, when I load my game, the music sounds fine, while the sound effects, voices, and background noise is real crackly and fuzzy... Unbearably so.

Any idea what might be the cause? Would you need to know my system specs in order to isolate the problem?

Thank you so much in advance!

Sorry if those instructions were badly writen.
I had a character limit to work with and I can't post a proper news post.

P.S. When playing, check the medical container to your left just after you exit the dock. Yaknow, where the medbots are.

Right, for people who are new to his mod and have discovered that the Read-Me File doesn't work; Listen up.
1)Put all files into correct DeusEx folders. .u files into \DeusEx\System. ChronosScrptTEX.utx into \DeusEx\Textures folder. The two .umx files into Music folder.
2)Back up the \DeusEx\Maps folder or specifically 00_Intro.dx, 01_NYC_UNATCOIsland.dx, 01_NYC_UNATCOHQ.dx, 02_NYC_BatteryPark.dx and Dx.dx. Then copy those files from the extracted Chronos folder and paste them into \DeusEx\Maps.
3)Tricky bit. Go into DeusEx\System and find the DeusEx.ini file. In here find the line starting with DefaultGame= and change it too DefaultGame=Chronos.ChronosGameInfo.
4)Go back up to the top of this .ini file and find the line starting with Class= and change it too Class=Chronos.CyanFenix.
5)Close and save changes. Then find the user.ini file in the \DeusEx\System folder and change the line Class=Deusex.JCDentonMale into Class=Chronos.CyanFenix. Save and play.
