No one would have believed, That in the middle of the twenty first century that human affairs were being watched from the timeless worlds
of space.
No one could have dreamed we were being scrutinized, as someone with a microscope
studies creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. Few men even considered
the possibility of life on other planets and yet, across the gulf of space, minds
immeasurably superior to ours regarded this Earth with envious eyes, and slowly and
surely, they drew their plans against US.
Mars is incapable of sustaining life. The martians efforts to maintain the biasphere have failed, There food and water input decrease anually as does there population.
The only consequential course of action is the conquest and occupation of EARTH.
The problem is of course is us *THE HUMANS*.!!!!
The means and methods for this attack are already being realised.
All of earths defending forces will be called upon:)
In times of war we must UNITE.
Wage war with a vast variety of weapons and Vehicles, in many Alien vs Human gametypes including: Conquest, Survival, and Defend. Its the Fight For Humanity as the Armed Forces of Earth fend off Invading Aliens in the Present day. They came without warning and as they came, they destroyed everything in their path, If We fail the rest of the world will surely follow.

I FLIPINOMAD the original guy who started the WotW MOD now Eve of War is back in action, I had life to deal with such as school work and dating girls. But now I will continue my job as a Mapper for the MOD itself. Wow its nice to be back here working again.
With this I still have sum rights to the team so I have decided for a Mutliplayer only MOD because trying to get the animations is hard enough, and with bots, good lord. So sorry peeps who were expecting a SIngle Player experience but the Multiplayer will be worked on more now because of this.

I am so damn glad i bought battlefield 2 now.
It also looks like they are basing this on the jeff waynes musical version.
Thank god!!! Anyone that prefers the modern movie with tom cruise over the original H.G. Wells book or Jeff Wayne's Musical version has something wrong with their heads.
I would love to help you guys but i aint very good so im gonna wait till i have more experiance with 3d Max and other graphical software befor im gonna start helping big projects like this.

For the people here who don't know a great deal about The War of The Worlds...
1.): The movie "War of The Worlds", which many people seem to think is an original work (I actually loved it, so don't take this as a snuff at it or something) is in fact based on a relatively old book by H.G. Wells. So before you say "this looks nothing like the movie/the humans were beatsticked in the movie", don't.
2.) Judging by the tripod designs, the Martians, at least, are being based off the RTS game interpretation of a Jeff Waynes musical interpretation of the book. I've only heard bits of the musical, but the game was quite good. In it, the Martian's had a wide variety of machines, from three-and-four legged walkers, to hoverbombers, and other handy killing machines. However, they had no shield, and a single tripod didn't stand a change against a standard human detachment of five light tanks- "light" Tripods were built in trios, and I think mediums came in trios as well. Not sure. But the four legged Tempest was a killing machine by itself, so it probably won't make it into this. I imagine that in this mod, they're going to have a set ratio, say five humans per Martian player. Then again, the RTS game was set in the same time as the book. Since the human weapons in this are modern, and this also draws on elements of the movie, it'll probably be different... eh.
Just a suggestion and a little fact:
The team should be called the "Martians", and wtf are we supposed to kill those things with? I know in one rendition of WoTW the crab-tripod things didn't have a shield, but that rendition did, and in the movies the humans are pretty much dead meat, even the militarys, but maby you could have new weapons like a "Germ Grenade" that the humans use, and the martians use the "fog grenade" which produces noctous fumes like in the book, and it would, in my opinion, be better to base it on the Tom Cruise rendition, with tripods that look like giant octopuses, and heat rays, and stuff
And btw, the musical version of WoTW takes place in the late 1800s

Japan DOES have army. Albeit a relatively medium-sized one. Known as the JSDF: Japanese Self Defense Force. THe only reason they don't do anything is cause of the limited consitution America imposed on Japan following World War 2.

the images look sweet, but it doesnt really show anything about the mod. if it's going to be based on the recent war of the worlds film, im definetely going to take a look at this mod.
