That's right! Happy halloween everyone! Now this period of the year is the best time for a horror developer (at least for us). This is why we're trying to make this event a bit special, with a couple of announcements.
First of all, it's the 4th year anniversary of the Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut release. We're very proud of the mod, and we recommend you all to try it out during Halloween, and also while you're waiting on Cry of Fear. A trailer of Afraid of Monsters: DC is displayed below. Please visit the mod here: Moddb.com
The Cry of Fear progress is going awesome, and we've made so much the last month. Last week, I made another update that was 647 mb big and contained 814 files and 112 folders, and that update only took 2 weeks. This shows how great the progress is going!
Another cool thing is that the Single Player campaign is almost entirely finished. All the endings and all the unlockables are all finished. And now we're talking about 30 unique unlockables such as clothes, weapons, game modes (like Hunk in Resident Evil), developer commentaries, items and etc. This demonstrates how far we've come with modding since Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut, which only had 1 unlockable (which we thought was damn awesome).
The coming months we will try and focus on the new game mode that I mentioned, and also co-op. And of course fixing bugs. This will hopefully go pretty quick, as co-op is almost finished as well.
We've also come up with the idea to have the community unlock certain things by liking our Facebook page. This was a great success when you, the awesome community, unlocked the Gameplay video. The result of it was that we started seeing new faces appear, which is the whole point of making a game - to entertain people. Therefor, we have made this little list here where you can unlock screenshots, videos and also the official Cry of Fear release date. Simply all you have to do is enter our Facebook page and like it. We want you to spread Cry of Fear around, so we can hopefully give the whole world an evil heart attack by scaring them to death with this mod.
Everytime you unlock something, we will post a news about the thing you people have unlocked. To like our Facebook page, go to the link, or click the image below. Good luck!

We're still stuck working with Cry of Fear, and will be a few months more, because progress is going a bit slow now. This is mostly because we're a small...

Afraid Of Monsters DC Russian Pistol Pack
This is a story addition mod.
Theres two notable game breaking bugs i encountered so far, one being getting stuck in the elevator and needed to use noclip everytime, and a sequence where you need to press two buttons to open a gate door, yet the door remains locked no matter how many times i reloaded.
Absolutely phenomenal mod. The level design and general atmosphere were really chilling and well done, plus the mod, not being so combat oriented, allowed me to take my time to immerse myself and observe all the details established by the author.
Overall this is very good, a 10/10 from me.
I was heavily encouraged to play this mod before trying Cry of Fear and I was not disappointed. I got a sven lobby together for it as well which was a great time :)
This mod it serves to say no to drugs
Are ya spooky, son?
Well there it is...
The knife doesn't spawn in the bathroom for me, making it impossible to progress. Is there a workaround for this? I really want to re-experience one of my favorite mods from my childhood.

Posting this in 2023. I'm quite impressed by the fact that such a good mod was made such a long time ago. Not that I wish to imply there are no good mods right now but this... This impressed me alot.
I can't help pointing out the fact that the author knows for sure how to "play" with you. Well placed jumpscares, right-behind-you zombie spawns and the design make the playthrough unforgettable.
Also worth mentioning. The ammo management... This is probably the only con I could find. I'm dead sure most of my playtime I've spent swinging my knife and not firing any weapon. Just to save the ammo. It might be the problem with Hard difficulty. Don't know for sure whether this problem occurs while playing Easy or Normal difficulty.

Edit: have replayed this one with my friends using sven co-op. One more con I ignored at my first playthrough and couldn't stand the second time is far from intuitive level design (we got lost like 5 or 6 times thoughout the whole game. The building you enter right after the dark alleyway with alien controllers is straight up an unsolvable maze).
HL mods back then were something else, if you want to get disappointed try browsing the section now. Nowadays we have:
- Awful "comedy" mods
- People changing a single model and calling it a mod
- Beta mods that will never be finished
- Mods that's a single room with nothing to do in it
- Barren pages set by enthusiastic users left to rot
The list goes on.
this is a masterpiece, is as good as the video game "Gex" for Playstation one. Yes, is THAT good. i love sweden
