Announcing Final Front: Iris Offensive for Red Alert 3! Formerly exclusively for Star Wars: Empire at War, the Final Front team has decided that the time has come to move on to the power of Red Alert 3. We have not totally abandoned Empire at War - at least, not yet. Details are still being worked out in this regard.

With the Red Alert 3 Engine, we have the power to go where no mod could go before on EAW. As we go about building the mod though, we are going to strive to bring good features from EAW over to Red Alert 3. 

Final Front: Iris Offensive is a 3D RTS mod, set in the Stargate universe. Experience battles as never before, with stunning visuals and realistic battle control. There are two paths to take: You can conquer and enslave the Galaxy as the Goa'uld, or fight for freedom with the Tau'ri and their allies. Which way will you turn? The choice is yours.

So to start this off, let me answer a question that I have recieved a few times. No this mod is not dead, far from it. Basiclly all of the members of the mod team had something happen in their outside life that made it so that they did not have any time to work on the mod. It happens, but now we are getting things back on track. While we dont have anything new to show you in this small update, we are working on getting models into the game. So if you guys can, hold on for just a bit longer, cause the next update we have will be big.

Campaign is undecided on right now. Our first release will be skirmish and online multiplayer only. After that we will consider a campaign.

tell me, how do you expect to create a mod for RA3 when i think 60% of the original SAGE engine has been re-written for RA3 and that they're not going to release the mod SDK with the initial release.

Just like any other mod. We will work on the models, textures, and animations first. We can then test them out in CNC3 as its basiclly the same engine. Once the SDK comes out, all of our models should be done, and we can easily add them in from there. After that, we then work on bringing unique features to the engine, those of which are being kept secret for now.

Makes sense, as I didnt realize that EAW was so finicky.

A good idea right now would be to get some of the art assets into CnC3 while you guys wait for the RA3 sdk after release (with cnc3's shaders on there, as it appears that asset production does not look much different in RA3)

Thanks, and thats what we will be doing. We can test things out in CNC3 to make sure models work, are sized correctly, etc. Though we are in need of help in all positions, like modeling, textures, and animation. Without that help we cant get much done.
