This mod will be based on Freespace 1 and 2, since there not making another one i thought i would make a mod when i have free time to work on it.
Features:
-The space combat from freespace except upgraded with doom III graphics.
-for the first time experience freespace warfare on the ground as a marine.
-2 full single player campaign set in the freespace series 20 years after freespace 2.
-During the single player campaign play as a marine and a pilot as you engage in fierce combat.
-FSSW will feature an imersive single player campaign set in the Freespace universe. Players will be able to experience great first persona ction as playing as the marine or great space combat as a terran pilot. All fighters and capitol ships from Freespace 2 will be included but we will be designing many new ones too. Many more features comming soon plus more info on the single player storyline too.
I hope everyone that wanted a freespace 3 will enjoy this.

i like the terran marine weapon (tmw) is it supposed to be like the rocket launcher or something?
Well Doom 3 is here, but no sign of SDK yet...
This looks like having loads of potential, can't wait to see what comes of it now that Doom 3 is almost here.

I didnt realize a lot of people were excited about this i am a big fan of FS myself, i am thinking about reviving it later on but as of now i just don't have the time as i am tied down with work on Armed Forces, if that is successful then i have some even better ideas where to take this project.

i think it probly would be better for space combat, and comes out much sooner than doom3 :P

Really great potential in this one. And since Interpla are all a bunch of stupid ******** and they wont support Volition in making FreeSpace 3 this might as well turn to be the real ****!
And Doom 3 really offers the degree of flexibility as far as an FPS based on the FS universe is concerned... As for the sim. part - dunno, i have no idea of coding and this type of technical stuff, but I'm looking forward to see this come true. Don't give up!
And GL with Armed Forces. Looks really cool and interesting and I'm watching it closely too.
