Best of Void is exactly what it sounds like: There is a mod out there called Void Mod, and this mod took all the best parts and made an enjoyable deathmatch mod out of it. BestVoid preceeds Jeht by at least a year, and many parts of it survived to the next generation (though I'd learned a lot since). It does, however have some very interesting and unique features you will not find elsewhere.

Best Void's greatest strength is easily its game options. With these, the player can set up his deathmatch game the way he wants it. He can give players 500 health, 2x damage, all weapons, 3 seconds of invulnerability on respawn, grappling hooks, and turn off all the lights. There are a ton of options, and the player can use as many as he wants, or he can tell the mod to randomly select them for him.
Game variables can be easily set using the in-game menu, or they can be set directly and stored in cfg files.

Other features also include:

In-Game Menu to manage your game options

Laserbombs - These deadly devices come with each large rocket pack you pick up. They can be placed on any solid surface and will explode and do extensive damage when an enemy crosses the laser.

Defense Turrets - When included in a map, turrets will attack anything they choose to designate as an enemy. They can attack players, kill monsters, block access to powerups, and defend a CTF base and ammo rooms from enemy attackers.

Controllable Turrets - Get behind these turrets and use the impulse, and you can start blasting away enemies using the cannon instead of your weapon.

Probes - Pick up a probe and it will follow you around and attack any enemies that it sees. Probes are quite handy but rare.

Capture The Flag - Includes all the CTF game modes included in CTF Plugin: Classic CTF, Three-Team, Rob The Nest, Protect The Nest, and Offensive-Defensive CTF (a takeoff on assault/seige from UT).

=Weapon List=
=============

1. Blaster - Weak weapon from Quake2, used only when out of ammo.
2. Nailgun - Weak but reliable, though it runs out of ammo eventually.
3. Rapid Fire Canister Rifle - An excellent weapon for attacking evasive enemies. Spins up and then continues to fire until attack button released. Uses up ammo very fast.
4. Explosive Shell Shotgun - Good weapon that always leaves enemy in pieces.
5. Na'mek Machine Gun - Perfectly suited to combat in a firestorm, the Namek can deal great damage.
6. Plasma Cannon (press again for Napalm) - Fires pulses of plasma discharge to destroy foes. Sucks cells quickly. Its secondary fire will fire a napalm grenade that can cause great carnage.
7. Rocket Launcher - Excellent classic weapon.
8. Hyper Blaster - High-speed weapon that is highly reliable and capable of doing a lot of damage.

Laserbombs - When picking up a large rocket pack, you will receive laserbombs, which you can place on any solid surface with an impulse. Once placed, the bombs produce a laser that will trigger the bomb to explode when crossed. The bomb is quite powerful and concentrated, so watch out.

The numbers next to the options are only used for editing the configs directly, most people won't need to worry about them because the in-game menu does it for you. Each option can only be used once, but multiple options can be added together. The options affect all players, not just the player who set them.

===Misc Options

4 Scale gib damage to match damage upgrades

8 Scale impact shock to match damage upgrades (so you don't fly 'cross the room when hit with a single nail)

256 Remove All Powerups

2 Don't allow observers (bots and turrets ignore players named "observer", this will just change their name back to "player")

16 Remove all weapons from level

4194304 Don't print list of active options to players - make them guess :)

1 Random gamecfg options when level starts. "nomonsters" stores the gamecfg options to be randomly selected from (set nomonsters the same way you would gamecfg), and savedgamecfg is what gamecfg's you want to always be present (not randomly selected). Only gamecfg options can be randomly selected.
Example: To randomly select from Realistic Falling Damage, +100 Health, and Grappling Hook, and to have 3 second invulnerability always on, type at the console:
temp1 1
nomonsters 4113
savedgamecfg 2048
Then the next level I played would have some combination of those 3 gamecfg's, and always have 3 second invulnerability. The 3 randomized gamecfg's would change each time the level changed or was reloaded.
